During his high school teaching years in California, he taught Mark Harmon, William Katt, Jr. and Jerry Mathers, "the Beaver," of television fame. Ed Begley, Jr. played in his high school band as did Don Williams, the younger brother of John Williams, academy award winning composer of Star Wars Trilogy fame and friend of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.

For five years Brother Muller sang operas with Beverly Sills, Richard Tucker, Norman Triegle and Birgit Nilsson as well as other stars. He served as president of the San Antonio Mastersings and is a friend of Roger Melone, the conductor chosen to premier a new work by composer Gian Carlo Menotti at an annual American Chorale Directors Association national convention.

Brother Gerald Muller teaches music history at St. Edward's University. He has been teaching and conducting choral groups in Austin for almost thirty years. He is a Brother of Holy Cross who in 2006 celebrated his Sixtieth Jubilee. His former students include Cardinal William Levada , Prefect of the Congegation of Sacred Doctrine and Archbishop George Niederauer of San Fransisco City. A third former student is Gerald Wilkerson, Auxiliary Bishop to Cardinal Mahoney of Los Angeles.

Brother Muller has been instrumental in bringing other music faculty members and a Music Minor to St. Edward's with emphasis on theory, voice and piano performance. For thirteen years he served as music director for the Mary Moody Northen theatre productions, working with Broadway dancer-choreographer, Renata Sanford. As conductor of the Hilltopper Chorale, he produced four major concerts a year featuring many of the classic and operatic works of the repertoire. He accompanies the Children's Choir of St. Catherine of Siena Church and leads the 12:15 p.m. Liturgical Choir there for Sunday Masses.

Over a period of fifty years, Brother Muller has published 107 books--100 for children and seven biographies written for adults. These include what he considers his best work a full biography of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with a history of the civil rights movement in the United States. His biography of Blessed Miguel Pro, S.J., martyr of Mexico is With Life and Laughter was published by Pauline Books and Media of Boston. He interviewed Pro's last surviving sister, Ana Maria, in Mexico City and after correcting his manuscript, she declared it to be the most factual of any book written about her brother. Gentle Giants is five biographies of famous artists and musicians in one volume: Rossini, Corregio, Paderewski, Millet and Corot. His most recent biography is An Ordinary Man: An Extraordinary Mission-- the life and work of Father "Jack" Davis, an American missionary working with the poorest of the poor in Chimbote, Peru, for more than 30 years. The book is available from Hurley's Religious Goods Store in Fargo, N.D., and profits from its sale go to assist Father Davis in his work.

His biographies of Reverand Martin Luther King Jr., Civil Rights Leader, and Bro. Daniel Lynch, CSC Lover of All Things Living, are available from the St. Edward's University Bookstore. Lynch taught at St. Edward's for forty two years and mentored more than fifty physicians, dentists and pharmacists to successful careers. He was instrumental in saving the Blunn Creek preserve for study of land forty two million years old.

Now in his early 80's, Brother Muller continues to teach music history. He has no plans for retirement. He is simply having too much joy working with young people and sharing his considerable expertise in music, writing and life.
