John Doye

The photographs from this documentary project were all taken within Lockhart, Texas between January 24th and April 30th, 2011. The images cover teenage skateboarders, Texas Hatters (hat making business), Westy's Pharmacy, Raymond's Barber Shop, and patrons of the Korner Bar. I went to Lockhart with the intention of photographing the people of this small town. Looking in odd places to find not only history that has existed for decades, but also history in the making, helped create a baseline for the images I chose to represent the subjects within.
