Current
Research Projects:
Currently I am working on popular cultural responses to the military
in World War II and the early Cold War.
"Ella Reeve Bloor
and the Politics of the Personal in the American Communist Party."
I am working on a biography of "Mother" Bloor which emphasizes
the history of the American left and women in politics. The manuscript
focuses both on the use of friendship and kinship networks in political
organizing and on the interplay of gender, generation, and ethnicity
within the American left. It explores how Bloor as a radical woman
maintained, created, and transmitted social, family, and cultural
values in the political culture of the left.
