COSC 4351 Major Project #1

Create a web-site that acts as a restaurant and music guide for the city of Austin. The site should list 10 good Austin restaurants that are well known for their food. The site should list 6 live music venues. Each restaurant and music venue should have a brief description with it, including pricing (cheap, moderate, expensive) and the cover price if any for the music venues and a link to the respective web site if there is one. Add a google map or link to a google map to each description (restaurant and music venue). Your restaurants should be in Austin not Round Rock or Kyle or Leander. Part of your grade will be based on the quality and variety of locations you choose as well as the layout, design, and quality of information given.

Create a user-friendly layout that has a clean readable style. The class will choose one of the submitted projects to use as a link on the CCSC:SC conference page. The conference will be April 23-24th and our class is responsible for this link. If your page is chosen its an automatic A for the project.

Grade based on:

ease of site navigation and useability
design and style of the site
content is correct as specified
your site MUST be named project1.html and be linked off of your cs home page.

Your site must be w3c compliant under XHTML 1.0 Strict. Your web site must have good organization, consistent navigation, proper color scheme, and required content. You may include links to other pages that are relevant to your content.
