Dr. Russ:

I received my Ph.D. from the University of Vermont and my B.A. from the University of Colorado, at Boulder. I joined the faculty at St. Edward's University in 2003 following a three-year postdoctoral fellowship at Dartmouth College. After serving as the Chair of the Department of Psychology here at St. Ed's. for several years and briefly as Associate Dean of the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences, I am taking on the role of Interim Dean of the School. Please visit the university website for more information about our School and my 'Dean's Message'.

My area of specialization is behavioral neuroscience, with specific interests in spatial navigation, female sexual behavior, models of relapse, and various theories of cognition, learning and memory.

I teach courses in behavioral neuroscience, learning and cognition, chemical dependency, research and field experience, human sexuality, and contemporary biology.

For more details regarding my classes and research, please visit the corresponding links in the brain above or take a look at my curriculum vitae.

I served as an American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow during the 2010-2011 academic year. I was hosted at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York during the fall of 2010. I have chronicled some of my experiences on my personal blog: http://ridethecoletrain.blogspot.com/.
